We got creative in Science to day. We dug deeper into our understanding of the principles of flight and applied our knowledge to designing flying objects. Our materials included balloons, straws, cardboard, tape, and string. We began the exploration by blowing up our balloons, letting them go and describing their flight path.

Afterwards students established the criteria for determining the best flight path for their flying objects. They decided the flying balloon object that travelled the straightest path, did not go straight up, or drop straight down would be deemed the most successful.

The students then got to work designing and building their flying objects.

At the end of the exploration, it was determined that the flying object with the best wing design and best wing placement would have the best flight path.

Good work grade 6.
