Nothing better than witnessing students so engrossed in their books that they don't look up when the camera clicks!
Day 2 is always a good day. We start the day by doing a book exchange in the library. When the students have all the books and magazines they want to read, they find a quiet space to enjoy their selections. Nothing better than witnessing students so engrossed in their books that they don't look up when the camera clicks! Mrs. Remy

The students recently finished writing some "Found Poetry." They scanned novels, textbooks, magazines, writer's notebooks, etc. for words and phrases that reminded them of the theme respect. They rearranged their findings to create their own original poems. Here are some of the results. Mrs. Remy
Guest Teacher/Guest Blogger Hello, I am Ms. Delisle. I am a 3rd year student teacher from SUNTEP and I am currently in the process of doing my pre-internship. This past week, I was in Mrs. Remy's Grade 5/6 class teaching science lessons about the Moon and Moon phases. I had the students create their own Moon stories to be shared with the class. I enjoyed being out at West Central School, the students and staff members were very welcoming to their school with many hellos, welcome, smiles, and the infamous "who are you?" questions. I definitely enjoyed my week in November, and I am looking forward to the new year when I return in February and Arpil to complete my pre-internship student teaching in the Grade 5/6 class. Have a great Christmas everyone and see you all in the new year. Ms. Delisle The grade 5/6 class and myself would like to thank Ms. Delisle for joining our class for the week. We learned a lot from you. We're counting the days until your return. Mrs. Remy We have been working really hard and have finally finished our art project, "Up and Over!" For this project, the students had to draw the top half of their faces. They used mirrors to get the details of their portraits just right... For the bottom half of their projects they searched the internet for inspiring quotes about friendship. The results were amazing! Be sure to check out their art work if you are in the school. ELAWe are starting a new unit in our Literacy in Action, entitled Stories of Our Lives. The purpose of this unit is to help the students talk about, read, write about, listen to, and create fictional stories. We will be learning about the different forms of fiction, the elements that make up fictional stories, and the importance of word choice and voice. Our goal is to read realistic fiction with a critical eye, think of the author's purpose, and keep in mind stereotyping, bias, and point of view as he or she reads. You are invited to be part of our unit in a variety of ways. For example,
